General remarks about your flight:
Objective of the flight was a TV film about the Bounty and the mutineers. Great support from the personnel at San Francisco Intl Airport for filmg. Route across the Pcific: Hawaii, Christmas, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, Tonga, Mangareva (Gambiers islands), foverflight over Pitcairn Island (=settlement of the Bounty mutineers in the Eastern Pacivic), back to Tahiti, Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Australia.
(*) I purchased the airplane in Barnsville, Ohio with the registration N201XP. After arriving in Karlsruhe, Germany, I sold it to a German individual (a client of mine) who had it registered in Germany (new tail N° DEBKB). At the end of May 1980 I ferried the aircraft from Germany to the US for avionics work, arriving in Akronm Ohio on May 29, 1980. Akron is just 60 miles north of Barnsville, the departure point for the RTW. Since the 5 legs across the North Atlantic in 1980 just took 4 days, I added them as the distance to the major part flown in 1978.
