Details: Obtaining jet fuel at Robinson Crusoe Island/SCIR and any of the outlying islands of French Polynesia requires a lot of advance planning for special delivery of fuel in barrels. Also, the French Polynesian CAA require affluent French speaker onboard for operations at Totegegie Airport/NTGJ but may be willing to waive that requirement with special procedures. We ended up landing at Tureia, French Polynesia/NTGY (for fuel from Air Tahiti barrels) which is uncontrolled and thus a French speaker is not required. However, the French Polynesian immigration officials will not allow an overnight stop at any of the outlying islands (just a quick fuel stops) without clearing customs at Tahiti/NTAA first. So, a flight from Easter Island must go all the way to Tahiti/NTAA without any overnight stops. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
