This was Amelia Earhart's route with changes after
Darwin (YPDN) until Howland Is.
There were intermediate flights for testing
after maintenance along the way, also local hops
with friends and supporters.
Two legs involved RTB after equipment failure
(HF and engine).
Enroute legs were solo.

Details: Advice to other pilots:

Be sure your plane is in 100% perfect condition before going.
Leave NOTHING to chance. Carry spares.
If your plane burns avgas, bring your own fuel pump to pump from barrels.

Carry lots of US dollars. I had $20k and ran short.
Getting more cash can be a challenge as well as expensive.
Don't count on finding competent mechanics/technicians along the way.
Be prepared to do most of the work on your airplane yourself.
If you can't fix your airplane, bring someone who can.

Leave yourself plenty of fuel reserve. You will end up using it at some point.
I consider 3 hours fuel to be minimum reserve for long legs.
Give yourself time to rest. Even if the autopilot is doing the bulk of the work,
the change in time zones and the mental stress of staying focused is fatiguing.

I really needed at least a complete day off after every long (10+ hours)
leg but didn't discover that until I had a week of too-long days under my belt.
You can push harder if you have someone to share the flying with you.
