Means of communication used: HF Radio, sat telephone, e-mail by HF radio, other? : HF radio, sat phone, email by HF radio.
Other: HF RADIO ESSENTIAL AND USED EXTENSIVELY IN SE ASIA, ACROSS THE AUSTRALIAN INTERIOR
AND THE TASMAN SEA, ALL ACROSS THE PACIFIC AND THE ATLANTIC (ON THIS ROUTING).
SATPHONE ALSO ESSENTIAL BUT USED MORE FOR PERSONAL / OPS REASONS, RATHER THAN FOR ATC.
Did you use any satellite tracking system? Which one ? NOT ACTIVELY, BUT PEOPLE TRACKED ME!
Flight clearances: did you obtain them all, or part of them, yourself? : SOME OF THEM MYSELF.
FROM UK TO THE MIDDLE EAST I DID MYSELF. THROUGH THE MIDDLE AND FAR EAST DOWN TO AUSTRALIA I USED OVERFLIGHT (PAUL PORTNOI)
- RECOMMENDED.
FROM AUSTRALIA THROUGH NZ AND ACROSS THE PACIFIC TO CALIFORNIA I USED AIR CENTER ONE, AUCKLAND( ROB LEACH).
EXCELLENT, FRIENDLY, SERVICE BASED ON HIS PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND HIS CONTACTS ALONG THE ROUTE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
ACROSS THE CONUS AND THE ATLANTIC I DID MY OWN PLANNING AND FILING BUT SECURITY CLEARANCE OF MY EUROPEAN REGISTERED AIRCRAFT
ACROSS US AIRSPACE (TSA WAIVER) WAS ARRANGED BY RICK WOLFER OF PARAMOUNT. AGAIN, EXCELLENT SERVICE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

General remarks about your flight:
MORE ABOUT PLANNING AND LOGISTICS THAN FLYING. KNOW YOUR AIRCRAFT; I.E. FAULT ANALYSIS / DEFERABLE DEFECTS AND SOME
HANDS–ON ABILITY DESIRABLE. I STAYED IN ‘GOOD’ HOTELS WHERE POSSIBLE. THE COST IS TRIVIAL COMPARED WITH THE OVERALL BUDGET REQUIRED.
AS WELL AS REST; FOOD, POWER AND INTERNET ACCESS ESSENTIAL. GET A FULL US VISITORS VISA (VALID 10 YEARS) IT GIVES GREATER FLEXIBILITY TO DEAL WITH
THE UNFORESEEABLE. USE THE EXPERTS PAUL PORTNOI, ROB LEACH RICK WOLFER AS ABOVE
Advice to other pilots:
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DO IT IN AN AVGAS FUELLED AIRCRAFT, DO IT SOON (2014). TAKE YOUR OWN HAND FUEL PUMP
AND FILTER AND HOSE. USE AND FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH, FERRY TANK (TURTLE PACK RECOMMENDED) HF RADIO AND AVGAS PUMPLING SYSTEM
IN FLIGHT BEFORE YOU START OFF. SATPHONE ESSENTIAL. I USED ON PANEL USB CHARGER POINT FOR BOTH IPAD AND SATPHONE.
