General remarks about your flight:
2-3 years of conceptualizing and planning made it more enjoyable. Made detours to get to places we wouldn"t get otherwise. Had to change route about 10 times for reasons of weather, sickness, prop damage, landing and handling charges (Easter Island-Chile, original plan, was changed to Hawaii-US) .Stay flexible!
JetA was a great plus, many stops had no AvGas, or only on order.
The added security of a twin kept peace of mind on overwater flights: I would have reached land even if I had one engine fail in the middle of my 2020 nm Pacific crossing
.
Advice to other pilots:
Detailed preparation is fun and makes the tour more enjoyable
Speaking at least some words in the languages where you land is invaluable
Had no global handler, but used Streamline in Russia, and Petair in Japan, both very professional, and correct in their charges
RocketRoute for planning/filing and WFS for Fuel Releases
Wait for best weather, wind, dont be pressed for time!
