Advice to other pilots:
Watch out for bad weather and use modern apps on Andoid, like the Samsung S3 makes communication cheaper. Total cost of phone bill USD 500 for whole duration of trip with international calls for most days. Apps to get : Viper, Skype, and Whatapp
