The lodge has 22 rooms and thus, technically, can hold 44 participants on a sharing or couple basis. So our numbers are limited…

2. RATES AND RESERVATIONS
Bob Bates has proposed a special discounted all-in price for the Earthrounders meeting, at USD$200.00 per person per night on a share basis. The full five nights, therefore, would cost USD$1,000 per person, for accommodation and meals.
The dates of the meeting encompass arrival on Monday 24th October, 2016 and departure on the morning of Saturday 29th October, 2016. Full payment is required by 1st September, 2016, but in the meantime, please could all interested parties please let us know. We are starting a list, with immediate effect, on a first-come first-serve basis for Earthrounders.

3. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Meet & greet in Port Moresby
Airport transfers, all meals & shared accommodation.
Use of the conference facilities
Tea/coffee
Lodge-based nature walks
Early morning/late afternoon birding

4. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Local Tours can be arranged on request while in-house.
Domestic and international flights, gratuities and services of a personal nature such as beverages, laundry charges, phone and fax bills are NOT included.
Pre and post extension tours can be arranged on request.

5. PNG VISAS
A 60-day tourist visa can be obtained from your nearest PNG consul or Embassy. These are located in Washington, Brussels, London or Australia. Visas can also be obtained on arrival in Port Moresby for passport holders of most western countries. Please verify this requirement relevant to your nationality.
People holding an Australian passport must obtain a visa prior to their arrival. These can be obtained at the PNG consul in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Cairns.
There is no charge for a tourist visa but you must hold an onward air ticket.

7. GETTING TO/FROM MOUNT HAGEN
Mount Hagen airport is just under an hour’s drive from the Lodge.

Air Niugini operate International flights from Port Moresby to Singapore, Manila, Narita, Hong Kong, Bali, Honiara, Fiji or Australia (Brisbane and Cairns) , and can be booked direct online at www.airniugini.com.pg

The Air Niugini flights between Brisbane and Port Moresby are all code share flights with QANTAS and can be booked online with either Air Niugini or QANTAS.

Qantas Link operate two flights on most days between Cairns and Port Moresby and can be booked on www.qantas.com.au
It is possible to connect through to Mount Hagen from both the USA and Europe without overnighting in Australia or Singapore.

There is also a possibility that Air Niugini will soon commence a direct non stop flight between Mount Hagen and Cairns and/or Brisbane. We will let you know when and if this is announced in due course.

Flights between Port Moresby/Mount Hagen:
You can check these out on the internet, and book direct online at www.airniugini.com.pg
For example, there are three Air Niugini flights daily departing Port Moresby at 08:30, 11:45 and 15:00. Current rates online for Air Niugini flights are approx.. K376.00 (USD$150) Port Moresby / Mt Hagen – one way.

Airlines of PNG also operates daily flights between Port Moresby and Mount Hagen and they can also be booked on the internet. However we would recommend Air Niugini as sometimes Airlines of PNG can be unreliable.

9. FLYING YOUR OWN AIRCRAFT TO PNG
Mount Hagen (AYMH, HGU) is an International Airport with customs and immigration facilities and it would be possible to enter PNG at Mount Hagen. It is located at 5,300 feet above sea level and the sealed runway is over 2,000 meters long. If you do this then I would suggest that you plan your arrival between 10.00 and 13.00 hours, local times as there is often a fog in the morning and the weather generally deteriorates in the afternoon.
We can arrange your flight clearance into Mount Hagen/PNG at no cost to you however there may be an air navigation and landing charge but this would be less than USD$100. Other ports of entry are Port Moresby (AYPY, POM) and Daru (AYDU, DAU). Avgas and Jet A1 are available in Mount Hagen. A HF radio is required to operate in PNG fitted with the appropriate frequencies.
There is no night flying domestically in PNG and there are no lights in Mount Hagen.

10. PAYMENT
As mentioned above, full payment is required into one of the following bank accounts by 1st September, 2016. The options are a bank transfer into USD, AUD or Commerz bank accounts. We can provide an exchange rate at the time you make the deposit should you prefer to pay in Euro or AUD.
